New Species Of Microorganisms Were Able To Be Patented As Invention Patent Based On Patent Act Published On 21st Of January, 1994. Based On Article 26, Patent Act, Regarding The Invention Patent Of Microorganisms, The Depositor Should Deposit The Microorganism In The Domestic Deposit Institute, Appointed By The Patent Authority. Ministry Of Economic Affairs (MOEA), Based On The Patent Act, Has Appointed The Food Industry Research And Development Institute (FIRDI) As The Deposit Institute For Applications Related To Invention Patents Of Microorganisms On 21st Of April, 1994.
Intellectual Property Office, MOEA, Has Announced The “Regulations For The Deposit Of Biological Material For Patent Application” Since 21st Of June, 2002, And The Term “Microorganisms” Was Amended To “Biological Materials ”Based On The Amendment Of The Patent Act In 2003. FIRDI Has Been Aiming For Providing Safe, Secured, Effective And Standardized Management Systems For Patented Biological Materials Since 1994. FIRDI, Indeed, Do Listen To The Customers’ Opinions. The Biological Material Patent Services Has Been Accredited By ISO 9001 Since 2000, And Further Been Accredited By The New Version Of ISO 9001:2015.
